Just curious. My child is in the shelter. I thought of adopting from another shelter, but they all had outdated agreements. I rented an apartment with strict cat regulations. It has hard wood, even if the cat behaves well and uses sticks, it can cause indirect damage, so I don't blame the owner. I'm not always in favor of removing the claws, but if necessary (as it were for me) I have no problem with that. Thousands of children shave their heads for religious reasons. Why is nail removal worse? Also, what is less painful if done with a laser?
Anyway, my cat has paws in the front paws (they are only inside the house, I don't think cats should have paws outside) and it doesn't look like they are considered distorted / sterilized / etc. He was very happy.
I don't understand why some animal shelters need this agreement, badly. Thousands of cats are raised each year in animal shelters. Wouldn't it be better for Ed to have a pet cat that doesn't have nails? And do animal shelters really meet those agreements? I don't think so.

It is ridiculous to liken circumcision to nails. Cats walk on the tiptoe (the part that frees the office), but males don't walk on them! If you really believe that your argument is water, then you need to research what is actually involved in nail removal. Only the United States, Caa and some Middle Eastern states still allow claw removal. Most other countries did so because their doctors chose to use methods that were cruel and not beneficial to cats.
